
Manfred Rieck
German Federal Quantum Alliance
Co-Founder
Manfred Rieck is Co-founder of the German Federal Quantum Alliance, a partnership of the government owned organizations and federal authorities Deutsche Bahn/ DB Systel, Bundesdruckerei, Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), German Federal Intelligence Service (BND), Federal Employment Agency (BA), German pension insurance and BWI.
The group is focusing on the progress quantum computing, quantum sensing and on quantum cybersecurity aspects (PQC, QKD). It is their goal to act as a Think Tank for German government and to support the industrial usage of HPC and quantum computers as well as the structured introduction of PQC in government and industry.
Mr. Rieck is well embedded in the international quantum ecosystem. He is covering the industry/ business perspective and therefore he is in the board of directors of BITKOM HPC & QC, Quantum AdHoc Group of The Federation of German Industries (BDI), the Quantum Research Committee of the Münchner Kreis, the Quantum Tech World Advisory Board, and was for four years member of the Governance Board of the European Quantum Industry Consortium QuIC.
Manfred is working in IT departments since more than 20 years in senior management positions at Deutsche Bahn, IBM and BASF. He holds a degree in computer science from the University of Bonn and an MBA from the University of Reading (UK) and is a certified Information Security Officer.
