Post-Quantum, Pre-Approved: Practical PQC Migration with the Botan Cryptographic Library
Amos Treiber (Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity, Cryptography Development Engineer)
At the most foundational level of PQC migration stands the integration of new cryptographic algorithms. A cryptographic library provides these building blocks – making PQC-equipped libraries a necessity for widespread migration.
In this talk, we present the Botan cryptographic toolkit: a modern, open-source C++ library recommended for security-sensitive applications by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). We’ll walk through its architecture and features, with a spotlight on our PQC implementations and the security documentation for BSI approval. To bring it all together, we demonstrate how Botan enables seamless PQC migration through a concrete TLS use case.
