Certified physical security of PQ solutions
Peter Pessl (Infineon Technologies, Security Architect)
The upcoming transition to PQC brings with it a slew of new challenges in the world of physical security, which deals with resilience against attacks using power analysis or fault injections. Devices such as banking cards, eIDs, and eSIMs will soon be required to offer certifiably hardened PQ implementations while having minimal resources at their disposal and facing a yet to be settled attack landscape.
For this talk, we utilize the experience we gained through the development of the first EAL6+ Common Criteria certified implementation of ML-KEM and ML-DSA for security controllers and discuss security certification of PQC as well as challenges and high-level approaches for building secured solutions.
