Research Engineer
Rolfe Schmidt is a Research Engineer at Signal Messenger, where he bridges academic research and engineering practice to build secure, high-performance cryptographic systems at global scale.
At Signal, Rolfe has recently focused on collaborating with the research community to begin Signal’s post-quantum transition, including work on the PQXDH handshake protocol and the Triple Ratchet protocol. He has also contributed to Signal’s ORAM-backed Contact Discovery Service, Secure Value Recovery system, and numerous other cryptographic features of the Signal app.
