Bas Dunnebier is Chief Science and Technology Officer (CSTO) at the General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD). The CSTO responds to the opportunities and challenges presented by technological and scientific innovation, including for the service’s offensive and defensive tasks.
Previously, Dunnebier held several other positions within the AIVD, including as head of the Unit Resilience. As a result, he has developed broad expertise in (cyber)resilience, intelligence, and technologies such as AI, quantum and cryptology. He studied Applied Mathematics at the University of Twente, and Information and Communication Technology at Eindhoven University of Technology. Prior to joining the AIVD, Dunnebier worked among others at Thales, TNO and Technolution.
